Joan Yap
Joan Yap has over 12 years’ experience in sustainability investing and reporting having worked with listed companies, financial institutions, wealth owners, asset managers, academies and most recently with the Singapore Exchange.
She served in the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID) Sustainability and Conference Organising Committee and was a mentor to Singapore Management University (SMU) graduates on sustainability innovations. Joan is a certified trainer from the University of Zurich Center for Sustainable Finance and Private Wealth and has an MBA from the University of Birmingham.
Prior to her sustainability-related work, she was managing fintech businesses and travelled extensively to major financial centres in Asia and Europe for over 20 years. During that time, Joan contributed to the media and was actively involved in seminars where she spoke about fintech trends.
Joan is the founder of Greenwashing Awareness, a non-profit project that aims to create awareness for investors and consumers who may be exposed to misleading, deliberate or unintentional “green” claims by companies which will affect financial decision making.
